Our Journey

July 22nd 2006 -  Marry the love of my life

July 2008 -  Both done with grad school (check), Both employed (check)...  Let the baby making begin!

October 2008 - Charting and OPK's indicate ovulation - why is this taking so long (haha)?  Control- freak Sarah sees OB-GYN.  OB- GYN tells control freak Sarah that 3 months is well within the normal range of TTC. Thyroid levels tested = Normal.

January 2009 -  Still no BFP?  This is nonsense.  Control freak Sarah goes back to OB-GYN.  Progesterone tested = Normal.  OB- GYN's advice- keep trying and come back if not pregnant within a year.  SA ordered for DH.

April 2009 -  DH finally bites the bullet and completes SA after much apprehension and prodding from me.  Results are perfectly normal - what a relief!

June 2009 -  11 months of trying, bypass OB-GYN and make an appt. with RE.  RE order detailed work- up.
-Day 3 Hormone Testing:  All normal except for elevated prolactin levels.  Begin taking 2.5 mg     Bromocriptin daily.
-Day 3 Ultrasound:  Lining normal, antral follicle count very good.
   - HSG:  Both tubes BLOCKED!  Major meltdown on the table. Makes our 11 months of trying feel very futile.

July 2009:  Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy:  Stage 2 endometriosis removed, small polyps in lining of uterus removed.  Tubes declared patent (open) at the end of surgery.  We are thrilled!

August 2009:  Try on our own with a lot of hope!  BFN.

September 2009: 50 mg Clomid.  Progesterone levels indicate fabulous ovulation. BFN.

October 2009:  50 mg Clomid + IUI #1.  BFN

November 2009:  50 mg Clomid + IUI #2.  BFN

Decemeber 2009:  Natural cycle. BFN.

January 2010:  2.5 mg Femara = IUI #3.  BFN.  I begin to doubt that my tubes are actually still open.  Request an another HSG, RE assures me that they are open, but honors my request to complete HSG.  HSG shows left tube is blocked, right tube is open.  Endo. most likely returning.  After some dissapointed tears  and many prayers DH and I decide to take a short term break from medical intervention and proceed with IVF in the summer.

February - April 2010:  BFN.

May 3rd 2010 =  Begin BCP for IVF #1

May 22nd 2010 =  Begin Lupron injections (10 units, once daily)

June 3rd 2010 =  Suppression check = over suppressed, back Lupron down to 5 units

June 7th 2010=  Begin 150ui Follistim in AM, 1 vial Repronex in PM, continue 5 units Lupron in PM

June 9th 2010 =  Follicle scan and E2=  A couple small follicles on each ovary and E2 at 58.  Responding too slowly, if I do not respond better by June 11th, cycle will be canceled.
